Checking what is stored…
What works without a network
- Your project list, creating a project, and these settings, in English and in French.
- Exporting a backup and restoring one.
- Opening a project may still need a network, even after preparation.
- Preparing stores only Crocheo’s own files. Your projects, notes, and photos are never sent anywhere.
- Crocheo links to no other website, and its typefaces are served from this device.
Data
Backup and restoreA versioned JSON file you keep yourself.Storage on this device
Crocheo keeps every project in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
Persistent storage
Persistence is not a backup. It does not survive clearing the browser's site data, uninstalling the browser, or losing the device.
Space used
What can make this data disappear
- Clearing the browser's site data, or clearing history with site data selected, removes every project. So does uninstalling the browser.
- When a device runs low on space, a browser may remove data belonging to sites it treats as inactive, without asking first.
- Losing, resetting or replacing the device loses everything its browser was storing.
- A backup file you generated and saved somewhere else is the only copy that survives all of that. Generate one regularly.
- This data does not travel on its own between browsers, between browser profiles, or between the browser and the installed app. Move it with a backup file and restore it there.
Recent storage problems
This list keeps the last 20 problems only. It records the time, the operation and the technical reason — never project names, notes or photos.
Privacy
Crocheo has no account, no analytics and no server database. This is everything that does and does not leave this device.
What stays on this device
- Your projects, rows, notes, materials, reminders and photos are held by this browser alone. Crocheo has nowhere to send them and never does.
- A backup file is written by this browser to the place you choose. It carries your full project content, so wherever you then keep it — a cloud folder, a message, another device — is your decision and outside Crocheo’s reach.
What the server delivering Crocheo can see
- Opening Crocheo downloads its files from a server. Like any web server, it can record ordinary request data: the network address the request came from, the time, which file was asked for and how the browser identifies itself.
- It never receives a project, a note, a photo or a backup file. Those are only ever read and written here, by this browser.
- Once you have prepared Crocheo for offline use, relaunching it reaches no server at all.
What Crocheo does not do
- No analytics, no tracking and no advertising. No third-party service receives anything.
- Its typefaces and every other file it loads come from Crocheo’s own address, never from another website.
- There is no account and no password, so nothing here identifies you personally.
